Martinsville ISD's FCCLA program is reaching the end of another successful year.

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America is a national Career and Technical Student Organization for students in Family and Consumer Sciences education in public and private school through grade 12.

Recently, FCCLA competed in the State Leadership Conference on April 6-9 in Dallas.

  • Emma DeRise competed in Career Investigation and took 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞, which advanced her to Nationals in San Diego, CA.
  • Cinthia Rios & Sarai Velazquez received Evaluator's Choice in their Spotlight on Projects display.
  • Asiya Durham and Shannon Locke competed in Entrepreneurship and fell short of top 5, but 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝟕𝐭𝐡 in the top 20 in the state.

To support our three outstanding students advancing to nationals (Sarai Velasquez, Cinthia Rios, and Emma DeRise), we are hosting a "Sock-it to San Diego" fundraiser by purchasing fun and comfy socks! The website will close on Friday, May 13, so get your orders in quick! The National Convention will take place at the end of June.

Lastly, FCCLA will be hosting its last blood drive of the school year on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 from 8 AM-2 PM. Donors will receive a FREE beach towel. For full details, visit the flyer here: If you wish to sign up, please go here:

We'd like to give a special "thank you" to our Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher, Mrs. Cindy Nichols, for the investment of her time and knowledge with our students!
