MARTINSVILLE, Texas – On October 26, 2022, the Martinsville Independent School District was notified by the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean School Bus Program that the district has been awarded $1,580,000 in funding for the purchase of 4 electric school buses and associated charging equipment. The funding was allocated under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law of 2021. Of more than 1,000 school districts in Texas, only 13 were awarded funding in this round of applications, including two in Nacogdoches County.
